Course Objective

Objectives of this course are to provide the students informations about properties, processes and application fields of structural oxide ceramics (Al2O3, Mullite, ZrO2) and non-oxide ceramics (Si3N4, SiC,BN, B4C).

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   the student should gain ability to select and applicate for design and processes of ceramic system components for structural oxide and non-oxide ceramics
2   to provide to discuss the basic science of ceramics within physical chemical and structural properties of these materials and to be able to understand learning parameters regarding these materials.
3   be able to use the instruments and tools required for the experimental processes and analytical methods.
4   be able to report and discuss the results obtained from the analysis and synthesis processes required for designing
