Metallurgical and Materials Engineering

Course Objective

Objectives of this course are: To make the students understand ceramic conductors, dielectrics, insulators, pieozoelectric pyroelectric, electrooptic and magnetic ceramic materials. Have a first hand experience about the topics of these systems through laboratory experiments and semester projects.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand electronic, dielectric, magnetic, optic, and piezoelectric materials and magnetic ceramics as an engineering discipline embracing the design and fabrication of ceramic componets such as capacitors, sensors, thermistors, microwave and electronic devices, and actuators.
2   To interpret the basic science of the origines of a wide range of physical properties including conductive
3   To understand learn parameters regarding as these materials
4   To use the instruments and tools required for the experiments
5   To report and discuss the results obtained from the analysis and synthesis processes
