Course Objective

Objectives of this course are to make the students understand definitions, principles and concepts of electrometallurgy, surface morphology of metal electrodeposits, the current distribution of electrochemical cells, electrodeposition at a periodically changing rate, electrowinning, electrorefining, optimum condictions for electroplating, electroplating and surface finishing, metal deposition without external current, electrodeposition of metals from molten salts and environmental issues.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Upon completion of the course, the students should be able to learn definitions, principles and concepts of electrometallurgy, surface morphology of metal electrodeposits, the current distribution of electrochemical cells, electrodeposition at a periodically changing rate, electrowinning, electrorefining, optimum conditions for electroplating, electroplating and surface finishing, metal deposition without external current, electrodeposition of metals from molten salts and environmental issues.
2   be able to understand learn parameters regarding as the electrodeposition process.
3   be able to use the instruments and tools required for the experiments.
4   be able to report and discuss the results obtained from the analysis and electrodeposition processes.
