Course Objective

This course aims to increase the technical terminology knowledge of students in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology and develop the ability to comprehend technical writings with the help of the texts in the units. In each unit, students will be reminded of some important grammer rules. Also, the students awareness will be raised about the impact of engineering and production activities on the environment with the selected english texts. Besides, students will be informed on oral presentation technique and asked to create a team and make an oral presentation to classmates of a topic chosen related to metallurgy an materials. Their evaluations will affect the success of the student.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Increase technical terminology knowledge in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.
2   Develop the ability to comprehend technical writings.
3   Remember some important grammer rules.
4   Gain the ability to communicate effectively orally by performing oral presentations.
5   Gain the ability to work as a team by performing oral presentations.
