Course Objective

This course focuses on the spatial differences between the rural and urban areas in order to create an awareness of this difference especially in the urban planning. Accordingly, this course also aims at questioning the practical questions relating with this topic.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to learn what the rural means
2   to list the past experiences on the differences between rural and urban planning
3   to interpret the current planning approaches
4   to analyze the importance of rural area in the production relations
5   to unite the different approaches in the area of planning
6   to evaluate the approach in the Turkish system to the rural area
