Course Objective

This course aims to describe the relationship between architectural design and city planning, the architectural design process and design principles of different building types. It is also aims to discuss the relationship between housing types and density.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, students will be able to define the elements of architectural space,
2   will be able to list different housing types and their characteristics,
3   will be able to describe the architectural design process,
4   will be able to explain form and function relationship,
5   will be able to express factors and principles affecting the building types,
6   will be able to explain the interaction between building and its surroundings.
