Course Objective

This course intends to cover the different type of research to be held prior to planning practice and to show how and why the related information may be used.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn the factors that are influential in selection of the planning site. 2   To list the information to be collected from the planning site. 3   To interpret the obtained information. 4   To perceive of the importance of the field where the obtained knowledge is used. 5   To related the information with one another. 6   To evaluate of the importance of studies held prior to planning activity.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description 1 Land survey and questionnaires. 2 Ground floor and first floor land use analysis works held at the studio. 3 Analysis of questionnaires on social structure, commerce, tourism, health, religion, educational facilities. 4 Completion of all maps and data to be compiled in a comprehensive report.
