Course Objective

The objective of this course is to enable the students to familiarize with the fields (public or private) in which they may work, guide them for their future careers and learn their responsibilities as a city planner.

1   To learn the concerned/authorised institutions in city planning
2   To list the duties and responsibilities of concerned/authorised institutions in the field of city planning
3   To interpret the information obtained from the institution with which they work
4   To perceive the functioning and importance of these institutions in the field of city planning
5   To related the interrelations of the institutions
6   To evaluate the importance of works conducted prior to, during and after planning

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Learning the duties and responsibilities of the institutions where they work and examining the ongoing works
2 Taking part in the ongoing works of the institution as a candidate city planner
3 Participating in the planning studies either in the field or on the map sheet when deemed necessary by the institution and/or compiling the data (questionnaire documents on literature, institutional and social structure, trade, tourism, industry, health, religious facilities, training facilities etc.) collected in relation to the working area
4 Completing all the data in the map sheets and questionnaires and forming a report out of these data

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course has the method of works carried out in the bureau as an a candidate city planner in a concerned/authorized institutions in the field of city planning as well as the method of field works if necessary.
