Course Objective

This course aims at giving introductory information on the profession of city planning, its professional organization system and its fields of implementation, ensuring that problems of the profession are well-understood and preparing the students for the profession.

2   To identify the problems prevailing the profession of city planning (conception)
3   To acknowledge the importance of getting professionally organized and the organization of the profession (conception)

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be given in lectures. The students will be given term papers on the second week and term papers will be presented in class. In addition, panel discussions will be held with various invited professionals and seminars will also be organized for discussions of specific cases in solving problems of urban planning.

Definition and identification (conception) will be measured by the interim and final exams, while the examination and implementation (application) will be measured by the term papers.

This course will be held in lectures, panel discussions, debates and term paper presentations.Topics on the urban agenda will be discussed in the first 15-20 minutes of 12 weeks of the programme and interactive participation of students is a must.
