Course Objective

This course aims at defining urbanization and urban growth, presenting the theories of urban growth and structure with the circumstances under which they have developed, getting to comprehend the accounts of urban sprawl and rural-urban fringe, interpreting the theory of rent, and analysing the relationships between land policy and urban government.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, students, will be able to define urbanization and urban growth (Knowledge),
2   will be able to list different approaches of urban growth historically (Knowledge),
3   will be able to describe sprawl and fringe developments (Comprehension),
4   will be able to interprete agricultural and urban rent theories (Application),
5   will be able to relate urban government to land policies (Analysis).
