Course Objective

This course aims at defining social processes and spatial forms, presenting theories of space and place with the circumstances under which they have developed, getting to comprehend different spatial categories, interpreting the space politically, and analysing the relationships between social theory and spatial planning.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, students, will be able to define social processes and spatial forms (Knowledge),
2   will be able to list the theories of space and place historically (Knowledge),
3   will be able to describe different spatial categories (Comprehension),
4   will be able to interprete the space politically (Application),
5   will be able to relate social theory to spatial planning (Analysis).

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be given through lectures. Students will learn topics by attending and listening the lectures. Homeworks will be given to students in 7th Week and they will be asked to prepare their homeworks on the subjects given to them.
