Course Objective

After reviewing briefly the fundamentals of a programming language (particularly QBASIC etc.) and matrix operations, programming of simple applications and analyses ¬-by taking precedence in the areas of architecture and/or civil engineering- forms the main aim of the course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have a certain level of knowledge in order to realize the various applications in architectural area by using a programmiming language
2   To be able relate closely matrices and their operations with a programming language
3   To analyze problems, especially, in structural area by translating them into computer environment
4   To propose alternative solution ways and solutions for problems
5   To evaluate alternative solutions reached

The course will be taught in a lecture and numerical example applications will also be supplied during the lecture. Many homeworks will also be given in order to provide a better understanding for the topics.
