Course Objective

To discuss the impacts of tourism in the context of conservation of the historical buildings and environments and to examine the things likely to be done to transfer the buildings and fabric to the future by conserving their originality and by considering the conservation-use balance.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

3   To be able to give examples of using the historical buildings for touristic purposes,

1 Introduction and introducing of the aim, content and lecturing method of the course.
2 General information on the concept of tourism & types of tourism.
3 Place of tourism in the conservation of cultural heritage.
4 Conservation-use balance and tourism.
5 Examination of the impact of tourism on the use of historical buildings and environments via examples.
6 Positive / negative impacts of tourism on the historical environmental protectionism.
7 Positive / negative impacts of tourism on the historical environmental protectionism.
