Course Objective

The approaches in repair and conservation of historical environments and historical buildings are examined.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to explain the historical buildings with samples in the context of repair and conservation.
2   Ability to discuss the repair and conservation practices of historical buildings.
3   Ability to evaluate conservation of defined historical environments.
4   Ability to interpret conservation practices in the context of actual approaches.
5   Ability to communicate a research about conservation of historical buildings and environments in visual, written and oral form.

1 Introduction to the course, aim, method and contents of the course.
2 Discussing the concepts related to preservation and repair.
3 Discussing conservation problematic with actual samples.
4 Determining the subjects of the researches and making pre-studies.
5 Informing and discussing about the qualitative and quantitative methods which will be used in the research.
6 Informing and discussing about the qualitative and quantitative methods which will be used in the research.
7 Informing and discussing about the qualitative and quantitative methods which will be used in the research.
8 Critisizing the pre-researches of selected study subjects.
9 Technical trip.
