Course Objective

Pavements are important parts of highways and runways. They are in continuous contact with traffic, climate conditions and environment effects. Their characteristics determine the service life of highways and runways.
The aim of the course is to explain principles governing the design of flexible pavements. After a study of stresses developing in pavements under wheel load, material characteristics and climate conditions, design methods for flexible pavement are presented.

2   To compare the types of pavement with technical point of view.
3   To examine the irregularities occurring within the pavement system.
4   To examine design process criteria with details
5   To illustrate a sample for each design method.
