Course Objective

To clarify and analyse the ore mineral paragenesis using ore microscopy in both academic studies and in mining sector.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to optical properties of ore minerals using ore microscope.
2   To know the principals of the ore microscopy.
3   To identify the ore paragenesis of different type of ore deposits
4   To understand textural relationships between ore minerals.
5   To be able to do ore characterisation for ore dressing.

Lectures are given by both power point presentations and microscope applications. In tutorial students study with ore microscope.
