Course Objective

Identifying individual structural characteristics of minerals, relation between the porphyroblast growth and deformation in polimetamorphic terranes, identifying relict and stable paragenesis and revealing metamorphism types, conditions and relative age relations using textural types and reaction rims.

1   Paragenesis and stage, identification of metamorphic texture types.
2   Chemical/textural zoning in minerals and interpretation of overgrowth structures
3   Interpretation of twinning and reactions rims
4   Interpretation of replacement and alteration textures
5   Porphyroblast growth, interpretation of porphyroblast/deformation relations
6   Interpretation of shear movement data
