Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to give theoretical knowledge about "Classification of welding methods", "Physics of arc", "Electric arc welding", "Gas metal arc welding methods", "Submerged arc welding", "Coated electrodes", "Choosing of electrodes for welding process", " Weld microstructures of materials", "Welding failures" and "Pressure welding methods". In this course, using of these techniques in industry are also taught by giving examples.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Teaching of electric arc, plasma and it s properties and forces that affect to electric arc.
2   Teaching of influences of welding method on welding ability.
3   Teaching of basic principles and application areas of MIG/MAG welding, TIG welding, Submerged arc welding and pressure welding.
4   Teaching of weld microstructure of 2 cold formed plates in one pass welding.
5   Teaching of parameters that affect on hot pressure welding and how they affect.
