Course Objective

1. Explaining the concepts of unevenness and fault analysis in textile products.
2. Teaching the theoretical and practical concepts of yarn evenness.
3. Explaining the yarn hairiness and methods to measure hairiness.
4. Giving information about faults that are encountered in knitted and woven fabrics.
5. Understanding the fault scoring systems for fabrics.
6. Giving information about CUSUM and EWMA control charts and usage in textile production.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To identify the concepts of unevenness and fault analysis encountered in textile products.
2   To access the parts of the machine that causes the yarn unevenness with spectrogram analysis
3   To have knowledge about yarn hairiness and hairiness measuring methods.
4   To recognize the faults occured in woven and knitted fabrics and make comments about the reasons.
5   To identify the fabric quality classes caused by the fabric faults.
