Course Objective

This course aims at building,first,mathematical synthesis and optimization concepts for the solution of design problems,secondly,having introduced basic principles in the design of textile products,certain engineering
solutions and computer applications will be given,upon which practical part of the course has been based.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to approach product design in mathematical terms.
2   Ability to analyze the factors that affect textile design.
3   Ability to select and apply suitable design tecniques in order to design a woven or knitted fabric and 3D textile products which are suitable for the end-use.
4   Ability to relate physical structure of a textile product with its aesthetic and functional properties.
5   Ability to communicate and discuss about textile design objectives and problems.
