Course Objective

If spatial planning and urban renewal as one of technical instruments of it, take a part to play in realization of particular social design, the conditions of context, in which that process operates, can be considered as basic determinants.Transformation of cities through renewal in the process of globalization will discussed in this cource.1

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   will be able to list economic, social and spatial renewal criterias of the built urban environment (Knowledge),
2   will be able to define the renewal costs of urban environment as economically (Knowledge),
3   will be able to explain items of Cost-Benefit Analysis (Comprehension),
4   will be able to interpret inadequacy of items about economic cost through examples (Application),
5   will be able to question reasons for the renewal of the built environment in globalizing world as a economic view of point (Analysis)
6   will be able to propose strategies which would integrated social policies about renewal of the built environment (Synthesis)
7   will be able to revise the actual planning system (Evaluation).

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be given through lectures. Students will learn topics by attending and listening the lectures. Homeworks will be given to students in 2nd Week and they will be asked to prepare their homeworks on the subjects given to them.
