Course Objective

Production areas of natural building stones across the country, stratigraphic locations, geological and engineering characteristics, commercial names at market, usage areas. Production areas of natural building stones across the world, their geological origin, usage areas, their classification according to usage aims.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learning the locations of quarrying among Turkey
2   Ability to classify the natural stones according to their geological origins.
3   Ability to comprehend stratigraphical and geological characteristics of natural building stones of Turkey.
4   Ability to comprehend structural and mass characteristics of natural building stones of Turkey.
5   Ability to classify the natural stones according to their geological origins , quarrying locations, usage areas.
