Course Objective

Students will be introduced the basic concepts of financial management. Finance sector, basic financial tables, cash flow, depreciation and taxes are elaborated. Students will also learn how to apply financial analysis methods, especially ratio analysis, in real world settings. Case studies and papers, especially on implementation issues, are discussed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the basic concepts of financial management
2   Explain how domestic financial markets work and how firms obtain funds in the financial markets and at what cost.
3   Analyze a firm s performance to determine its strengths and weaknesses, and use financial analysis to make suggestions for improving performance.
4   Forecast a firm s financial needs.
5   Perform financial planning
