Course Objective

Aim of the lesson is teaching optimal control applications in mechatronic systems to students.

2   Ability of simulation and analysis of systems with computer.
3   Ability of application with theoretical knowledge.
4   Defining system and control organs.
5   Design of optimal control system for the system.

1 Principles of automatic control.
2 Different control types.
3 Application of control loop. Assignment of homework 1.
4 Definition of linear and nonlinear systems.
5 Classification and properties of linear systems. Delivery of homewok 1.
6 Basic systems (1ST order PID) and dynamic behaviours. Assignment of homework 2.
7 Midterm
8 Second order systems.
9 Dead time systems and their dynamic effects. Delivery of homework 2.
10 Closed loop analysis and stability.
11 Optimization methods. Assignment of homework 3.
12 Integral criteria.
13 Quadratic regulator problems and applications. Delivery of homework 3.
14 Student presentations.
