Course Objective

The goal of this course is to understand, review from acknowledged experts and discuss current problems and prospects in the integration of and interface between spatial analysis and GIS. The course includes exercises on spatial point process modeling in a GIS environment and urban analysis in a GIS environment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand a number of spatial analysis and modeling
2   To gain insight into the technical underpinnings of spatial analysis for use on the job, complement on-going research in statistics and modeling
3   Give essential background knowledge on methodological, theoretical, and policy dimensions of spatial analysis
