Course Objective

Clinical, pharmaceutical, analytical and industrial application areas of some compounds as well as enzyme, cell and organelles immobilized on a main matrix by physical or chemical methods will be dealt with and broadly exemplified.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have a knowledge as to methods applied for the preparation of immobilized systems and general principles,
2   Have a knowledge about clinic and pharmaceutic applications of immobilized systems and discuss,
3   Have a knowledge about biosensor and FET detector applications of immobilized systems and discuss,
4   Have a knowledge about analytic applications and discuss,
5   Have a knowledge about industrial applications and discuss.

Meaningful learning of the basic concepts given in presentations, association of concepts with each other, establishing the cause-result relationships and making comments by using the information available for problems and evaluating idea generation are carried out with mid-term and final exams, active participation to the lecture, homework.
