Course Objective

This course aims to understand basics of solid state fermentation, solid state fermentation substrates, factors affecting this fermentation and its kinetics, fermentor designment and production of some enzymes, proteins, organic acids, pigments, etc. having biotechnological importance in solid state fermentation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   This course is expected to help the student to understand what the solid state fermentation and its basics, advantages and disadvantages are,
2   to learn how is the modeling of the solid state fermentation,
3   to develop the students analytical abilities
4   to develop the students ability to present and criticise knowledge on solid state fermentation,
5   to give students further examples how the enzymes, organic acids, vitamins are produced by this system.
