Course Objective

End of this course, students, will learn the development of stress conditions and stress tolerance mechanisms in plants. The effects of tolerance mechanisms to the plant cell structure will discuss in detail.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand in detail the structure and function of the plant cell,
2   Understand stress physiology in plants,
3   Understand water-, heat-, light- and salinity stres responses,
4   Understand oxidative responses of oxygen shortages, injury, heavy metal stress, food scarcity,
5   Learn proteins are synthesized by plants as a specific adaptation to stress conditions.

Meaningful learning of the basic concepts given in presentations, association of concepts with each other, establishing the cause-result relationships and making comments by using the information available for problems and evaluating idea generation are carried out with mid-term and final exams, active participation to the lecture, homework.
