Course Objective

This course aims to help the student enter into actual problems of art evolved through history and deal with systematic solutions of those problems through artistic creativity

1   The student is expected to gain knowledge in issues regarding art and its definition
2   Understand the evolution of principles and criteria constituting the unity of cultural values in a historical context
3   Develop an awarness of the status of art in terms of ideology
4   Become knowledgeable in the matters of science and art
5   To explore into artistic creativity by focusing on the problems of contemporary art

1 Art and science. Classification and basic concepts. Direct and indirect expression
2 Elements that make up the organic sturucture of the unity of cultural values and styles that concide with value judgements
3 Continuity in harmony and contrast, accumulation and discontinuities in development
4 Artistic approaches and passions leading to revolutionary devolpements
5 Tradition, interpretation adn creativity
6 Creativity developing in individual directions with problems of color and sturucture starting art movements.
7 Midterm exam and deadline for assignments.
8 Creativity in avant-garde art in terms of plastic language, principles, methods and criteria in the process of renewal.
9 Artistic approach and creativity in the context of ends and means
