Course Objective

Contains the analysis about post-modern design movements, designers and design groups which had formed the history of graphic design from the 1960s to present. Subjects are design movements, lives of designers and discussions on the relationship between graphic works they had designed and the social environment they got involved.
Through lectures and interviews, course contains analytical and critical probes of the postmodern graphic design. Reading materials emphasise roles which the designers execute in social and cultural environment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The Student shall be able to analyse post-modern design movements, designers and design ecoles which had formed the history of graphic design on maste's level.
2   The Student shall be able to analyse the design products which had been created in contemporary graphic design era and be able to transfer inferences to his/her works on master's level.
3   The Student shall be able to have considerations and renditions about social and aesthetics applications of graphic design on master's level.
4   The Student shall be able to make theoretical readings, write reasearch reports and do presentations about contemporary graphic theories on master's level.
5   The Student shall be able to transfer his/her acquired knowledge to his/her works on master's level.
