To comprehend advanced techniques of harmonic, contrapuntal and formal analysis through theoretical knowledge and historical process.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Apply various composition techniques used in the first half of 20th century.
2   Explain a range of compositional techniques according to their principal aspects.
3   Assess similarities and dissimilarities of these techniques.
4   Recognize composition styles used in the first half of 20th century.
5   Make a list of reasons that a particular composition, analyzed visually and audially, is written by a certain composer.
