Course Objective

Mountainous areas which are one of the important geographical units has been used more and more in terms of value they have. Mounatinous areas require special politics not only for this aspect but also for the human factors. At the same time, for countries like Turkey, 2/3 of whose territories is mountainous areas, the evaluation of the potential of mountainous areas n the principle of sustainable development is important for the facilty utilization of future generations. It is aimed to give place the decisionf of the Council of Europe, Carpathia and Alps in the perspective of the Draft European Charter of Mountain Regions and aslo other territory practices in the course.
