Course Objective

In this course, it is aimed to bring the skill of managing the care of the adult individual having a complex health problem with a scientific and holistic approach.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Understanding basic concepts in geriatric nursing and developing strategies on caring geriatric person.
2   2. Composing new data by integrating gained data in geriatric nursing with ones from other fields.
3   3. Converting theoretic and practical data gained in expertness degree to behaviors.
4   4. Assessing data about geriatric nursing with critical thinking.
5   5. Fallowing latest developments and his/her own studies in geriatric nursing as nominal, verbal and visual.
6   6. Consider scientific and ethical values through data about geriatric nursing gathering, interpreting, proclaiming steps.
7   7. Reflecting absorbed data in geriatric nursing by using problem solving ability to nursing care.

Assessment Criteria

Presentation skill of the student, her/his preparation to the subject and participation in discussions will be assessed as the midterm exam.
The skills of interpretation, decision making, explanation and knowledge combination will be assessed in the final exam.
