Course Objective

The aim of this course is to define basic oncology and understand basic oncology knowledge. The adaptation to basic oncology laboratory and basic principles and rules of laboratory work is planned to be tought.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Capable of understanding relationship of cell cycle and cancer.
2   Be able to recognize basic knowledge of cell death mechanisms, invasion and metastasis in cancer.
3   Be able to understand the importance of signalling pathways in cancer.
4   Be able to understand gene-cancer relationship and importance of genes in cancer diagnosis, therapy and follow-up.
5   . Be able to apply basic laboratory work; cancer cell culture, Nucleic acid isolation, PCR and mutation analysis.
