Course Objective

The aim is to familiarize the students with the principles of phonology, morphology, pragmatic, discourse, syntactic and semantic theories in contemporary functional and cognitive linguistics, and teach them to think critically about the phenomenon of theory formation..

1   Students are able to define the basic concepts related to applied linguistics
2   develop an awareness of Turkish as a linguistic system and of related sub-disciplines
