Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of the internal and external reasons and outcomes of the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire.

1   The scope and literature of the politics of the Ottoman Empire in the Modern Age
2   The relationships between the Ottoman Empire and Europe in the Modern Age
3   The content of the reforms of the Ottoman Empire to prevent dissolution
4   The ınternal problems and the approach of the Empire to these problems in the Modern Age
5   The development of political thought and the process of organization
6   The establishment of constitutional order and its political effect
7   The external politics of the Ottomans and their outcomes
