Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of the democratization process in Turkey and the historical milestones of this process.

2   The political and democratic heritage from the Ottoman Empire
3   The struggle for modernism and democracy in the first years of the Republican Era
4   4. The comparisons of the democratization processes in Europe and Turkey

6   6. The reasons of the difficulties faced during the democratization process in the Republican Era
