Course Objective

The main purpose of this course is to give information about the history of principalities of Tavaif-i Müluk; Danişmendliler, Saltuklular, Artuklular, Mengücekler, Sökmenliler.

1   The political, ethnical, and cultural structure of Anatolia in the 11th century
2   The role and importance of the Anatolian civilizations other that the Seljuqs
3   The political histories of Turkish states called Tavaif-i Müluk
4   The cultural, economic, religious, and social life of the first Turk principalities
5   The cultural heritage and works of art of the first Turk principalities
