Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of the globalization after 1980s, globalization, modernization, nation state and Turkey, free market economy and Turkey, globalization and economy, social and cultural problems, the developments in the European Union, and the relationships between Turkey and the European Union.

5 The development of the idea of union in Europe, The expansion of the European Union: The Maastrict Treaty
6 The Amsterdam Treaty, the treaty of Amsterdam, the treaty of Nice, the European Union Constitution

8 The Turkish membership in the European Union as a part of Ataturk s external political objection
9 The application of Turkey to the European Economic Union and the treaty of Ankara
