Course Objective

Structural adjustment policies which are developed for adaptation to globalization process effect not only economic, but also social sphere and result in critical consequences for industrial relations. This course aims to ensure that students know the effects of structural adjustment policies on industrial relations systems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Identify the concept of structural adjustment and the theoretical bases of structural adjustment policies
2   Associate structural adjustment policies to global economic context
3   Show the change of wage policies which structural adjustment policies caused to
4   Analyse the effects of structural adjustment policies on industrial relations systems
5   Revise Turkish industrial relations system with regards to the effects of structural adjustment policies on it
6   Evaluate the effects of structural adjustment policies on employment, wage and industrial relations with regards to the protection of workers
