Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to understand the basic feature of labor markets in EU and Turkey, employment policy and the effects of EU s employment policy on member states employment policies in respect to Turkey as a candidate country.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand coordination, authority, responsibility and functions of EU s employment policy in member states and Turkey.
2   To understand the purposes and features of EU s employment strategy and the policies for employment and its implementations
3   To be able to analyse the effects of free movement of labour to EU socially, economically and politically
4   To compare the change of labour market in member states and Turkey in respect to space and time
5   To evaluate the social and economical crisis and transformations in global scale and in EU, and its effects on Turkey as a candidate country.
