Course Objective

To learn the definition of mood disorders, especially bipolar disorder, diagnostic criteria, clinical features, prognosis/outcome, psychosocial stress factors and treatment methods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having knowledge about the clinic features and diagnostic criteria of mood disorders.
2   Learning the etiologic factors, prognosis and outcome of mood disorders.
3   Having knowledge about the different treatment approaches for mood disorders.
4   Having knowledge about the clinical assessment of Mood Disorders.
5   Having basic knowledge about assessing the degree of severity of depression and mania.
