Course Objective

This course aims to make the student learn and comprehend techniques of the texts prior to the silm script in the dramatic structure (synopsis, treatment, film story) and the terms of dramatic story like character/space analysis, identification and catharsis.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have the ability to write a feature film script in the dramatic form
2   .Learn the basic components and terms which shapes the dramatic structure such as main conflict, side conflict, shaping a character, creating the story line based on cause and effect relationship, identification, catharsis, time/space matching
3   Have the ability to write stories fitting the dramatic structure
4   Learn the pre-screenwriting text techniques such as synopsis, treatment, film story
5   Be able to shape a character and learn the terms and the theories about social, political, psychoanalytic etc. fields which are necessary to build a new character
6   Be able to correlate the cinematic universe and reality correctly
7   .Learn the inner and outer determiners of a person such as family, education, establishments like government, love, sexuality, violence, fear, neurosis; as a necessity by the topic being worked on and the themes

1 Guidelines about the feature film script. Determination of the topic and the themes of the script that the students is going to write and two weeks of research

As an applied course, the student is assessed according to the texts that he/she has written in the forms of synopsis, film story, character and space analysis, treatment and script. Besides, his/her creativity, participation in discussions and contribution to analysis are assessed.
