Course Objective

The objective of the lesson is firstly to make the students search and discuss about visual culture and to improve writing skills within the frame scientific publication rules. Another objective is to introduce artical approaches to the students vin message, visual devices, media tools and cinema. During the lessons the students are supposed to be active.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students are supposed to 1. to have a critical view about the importance of visual-audial media
2   2. to have imformation about how to use and produce visual media images (such as adverts, films, posters, brochurses, billboards etc.)
3   3. to discuss about the reality of media ownership,
4   4. to evaluate about media ethics and ethic codes.

1 Introducing ourselves, the lesson and references.
2 Defining visual culture and visual culture studies.
3 Adverts, the relationship of media and finance.
4 Watching a thematic film about media ethics and media critics and discussing afterwards.
5 Media messages, representation, and applicability of media ethics.
6 The structure of media ownership and monopolization.
7 Supervisory and executive structures about media ethics.
8 Discussing about how images sorround our daily life and discussing about the relationship between images and reality.
9 Presenttation-1

11 Mid-term exam.
12 Evaluation.
