Course Objective

This course, that is the beginning of preparing glazes and glazing discipline, provides preparation and different application techniques of glazing for students by introducing the materials.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have information about different glazes.
2   To be capable of using equipment of glazing competently.
3   To be capable of preparing glazes smoothly and homogeneously.
4   To be capable of glazing a ceramic piece by dipping technique.
5   To be capable of glazing a ceramic piece by pouring technique.
6   to be capable of glazing a ceramic piece by brushes, sponges etc

4 Modeling a ceramic object for requested glazing technique.
5 Modeling a ceramic object for requested glazing technique.
6 Preparing glaze recipes.
7 Preparing of glazing process.
8 Preparing consistence of glazes.
9 Coloring transparent glazes.
10 Glazing by the use of air brush.
11 Glazing by dipping technique.
12 Glazing by pouring technique.
13 Glazing by the use of sponge, brush and other alternative materials.
14 Glaze firing.

3. Absence in the course and the late deliverings of homeworks and projects will be considered as a valid excuse.
4. Students will be considered as unsuccessful because of late deliverings even if they have joined the course.
