Course Objective

The aim of this course is to have the students examine the history of natural dying, the development of natural dying in Turkey and the methods and techniques applied in natural dying at professional level.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   classify the physical and chemical features of animal fibre,
2   classify the natural colouring substances according to the colours they give,
3   classify the colouring substances according to their parts giving colour,
4   define the dying methods,
5   cite the dying formulas from sources.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

A mid-term and a final exam will be given on the theoretically taught subjects in the lessons. Besides, the students are supposed to prepare an assignment . The pass grade will be determined out of the mid-term, assignment and final grades.

Assessment Criteria

The mid-term, the assignment and the final grades will be evaluated out of 100. 20% of the mid-term, 20% of the assignment and the 60% of the final exam will determine the pass grade. The students will be informed about the value of the questions to be asked in both exams.

Course Policies and Rules

70% attendance is compulsory.
Before the end of the term, in the last 15 days, students will be able to learn their attendance. Students who fail due to absenteeism will not be admitted for the final exam.
At the end of each lesson, the next lesson s subject is given to the students as study and research subject. So, students come to the next lesson ready.
Students who are on sick leave will be considered absent, except the mid-term and the final.
Students who don t take the mid-term or the final exam without any excuse will not be given the exams by any means.
