Course Objective

Getting information about artistic ceramics by examining the development of the ceramic
art that started in the first half of 20th Century and accelerated in the second half
of it in Europe, America and Far East, to evaluate ceramic works with this knowledge,
and improve the ability to establish relationship with other artistic disciplines.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1-To have information about the changes in ceramic art after 1950 s,
2   2-To establish a relationship between Ceramic art and art movements,
3   3-To get knowledge of current literature and organizations in ceramic art,
4   4-To make the association between Ceramic art and other art disciplines,
5   5-To criticise ceramic artworks.

Assessment Criteria

1. The students attendancy to classes, participation and contribution with their
questions and responses at the course will be considered.
2. The research conducted prior to the course, to be shared in the course, will be
presented as a seminar supported with visuals and a report.
3. A midterm and final exams will be held on to measure their knowledge on the basic
concepts and issues in the course.
