Course Objective

The main aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills about the main components of maritime transportation such as cargoes, ships, ports, maritime business. Also to inform students about the history of maritime transportation, the importance of globalization and containerasation, maritime logistics and its value, and also discuss about contemporary issues in maritime logistics.

1   explain maritime transportation and maritime logistics key elements.
2   explain shipping logistics, port logistics and freight forwarder.
3   compare maritime transportation and maritime logistics.
4   analyze the relationship between cargoes, liner operators, ports and freight forwarder.
