Course Objective

It is aimed to gain knowledge and information teorical and practical decoration tecniques about underglaze painting, on the glaze painting after bisque firing. Giving detailed information about our cultural heritage of Iznik and Kütahya ceramics, and applying reproduction of these ceramics. Projects developing with original and creative designs after the grabbed of its technique. Thus, students acquire cultural knowledge as well as gain the ability to apply the technique and to differentiate from other techniques.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know basic information about the decoration techniques applied before and after firing in the design of ceramic process and has technical information about decoration technics using this information,
2   To design unique and creative design formation and infrastructure,
3   To form ceramic materials and use the correct technique of decoration,
4   To apply and correct use of technical informations of ceramic decoration technics.
5   To use time correctly in the time of design and applying and capable of solving problems.

1 Explaining theoretical decor techniques to be applied in the course and showing the samples.
2 Supply of material to be used. The first stage of the project and sketches design.
3 Making application.
4 Making application. Sharing theoritical information about the second project
5 Stage of second projects sketches and design
6 Making application.
7 Making application. Sharing theoritical information about the thirt project.
8 Stage of thirt projects sketches and design
9 Making application.
10 Making application.
11 Making application.
12 Bisque firing
13 Glaze firing
14 Assessment of presentation, asignment and project.

1-Attendence has to be %80 along the term.
2-All kinds of pilagiarism will result in disciplinary action.
3-Delivery of the projects on time and attandence of final presentation are obligatory.
4- If the student work is late fort he final time, even the student attended to the course will be accepted as failed.
