Course Objective

The course aims at developing and resolving accessory product designs ranging from technical and aesthetical processes related to designs of such textiles as scarf, tie, handcerchief, muffler, masa örtüsü, runners, tissue American servis excluded from main item group but complementing garments and home textiles to techniques and applications to create panel surface arrangement and one way and multi layouts and convert sketch and design into output

1   Know how accessory product group correlated with main items
2   Establish output technique and choice of material of item to be designed as accessory
3   Pursue related fashion and innovative trends
4   Benefit from computer aided processes while preparing technical presentation panels of designs

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Courses
Staff member is to explain process of project as well as what is expected as a performance from given project within context of course. He or she is to guide students on problems to be solved in transition to designing and expect them to scan related literature.
Revising Sessions and Class Discussions
He or she is to discuss criteria that research is compatible with project , unique and convertible to project and choose skethings
Applications
After design problems have been solved, presentation of design panels is prepared and in this process student consults with his or her staff member or instructor. Students participate in jury process with their sketching books, presentation panels and accessory items.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Student works are graded according to aesthetic value of the design, creativity, invention, innovative approach, starting point s reflection on the designs, design suitability with the product group, suitability of the technique, weaving, materials determined in the process of transition from design to production, product suitability with design and its applicability in mass production.
Attendance grade of the student depends on (1) course attendance, (2) quality of the answer given to the instructor s questions during the lecture and in-class design study, (3) student s contribution in order to create a positive learning environment.

Assessment Criteria

Staff member/instructor makes sure that
student s designs are compatible with project
he/she has shown success in available material and techique,
he/she has achieved in preparation of presentation panel of his/her designs
and he/she has performed during assesment jury process

Course Policies and Rules

1.It is compulsory to maintain 70% of class attendance.
2. Any attempt for plagiarism result in disciplinary penalty.
3. Absence in the class is not a valid excuse for late submission of the projects and assignments.
